Thytronic's SCADA Remote Terminal Units (RTUs) are often used as station controllers for data acquisition in substations, which require additional devices for gateway functionality and advanced features such as load shedding or microsecond timestamping. Our modular RTUs are powerful controllers with integrated Ethernet switches, cutting-edge functions, and internal I/O, allowing for complete management with a single compact device.

These RTUs can map serial servers into logical IEC 61850 nodes, gather and process data from both old and new IEDs, communicate directly with the control center via any standard protocol (e.g., IEC 60970-5-104, DNP3), and handle all common protocol conversions: from Modbus to IEC 61850, from IEC 101 to IEC 104, from Modbus RTU to Modbus TCP, from Modbus to Ethernet IP (from serial to Ethernet in general), from IEC 103 to DNP3, and manyothers.
